BORIS
The Gardener

"In wilderness is the preservation of the world"

About Me

The earliest available notes from Boris` gardening diary take us back to 2005 when he was only 18. He took over a big garden, above the village he lived in, in Croatia. He swore never to use chemicals, and this mentality continues to date. His knowledge and early life explorations are based on organic, natural and sustainable permacultural methods and ethos, both in gardening and life. The turning point in his gardening life was when he discovered American gardener Ruth Stout, in his early 20s, and her deep mulching method, followed and inspired by the miraculous work of Masanobu Fukuoka. The next season, he ordered 100 hay bales, and his gardening style was changed forever.

Four years of mulching in the dry Croatian climate, continued by the humid seasons in the UK, on his allotment and client`s gardens, enriched Boris`s deep mulching experience.

Numerous blog posts on his artistic website, on the Permaculture Association website, on YouTube and in Permaculture magazine prove the amount of courage he has to try something new, out of fashion and underrated. He is always accompanied by his best friend Roxy. Boris stands for people, art and sustainability
